Default Go Through PvE or PvP for Stronger Character?

This may be a dumb question, but I was curious if taking a character through PvE could result in a stronger overall character than a pre-made PvP, or a PvP made with unlocked items and skills?

I realize that whatever you unlock in PvE is useable in PvP at any moment, by creating a new PvP character, but the PvP character is useless for anything other than PvP. No farming, no running, no co-op play through missions, ho helping low level guildies, etc., etc.

So what do you guys think?

The only reason people make pvp characters is, they want to go pvp but they dont have the time to start a pve character and get all the items and get him to level 20 etc. But as long as you have the right skills unlocked you could go make a pvp char. Although pve char can't be stronger tthan a pvp char, if you just started the game, then pvp char would be stronger than your pve char, since he gets all the max def armor and such. If you already have a level 20 character with all 200 skill points, his max defense armor good items defently a sup vigor, then by all means you can use him to pvp with.

Most of the time PvP characters are stronger than PvE characters because they have better items (+15%dmg > 50% health, +15%dmg when stance, etc...).

BUT, PvE maniacs will eventualy get better stuff than that, such as weapons with +20% damage EVERYTIME. Unfortunatly, it costs a lot or it takes a long time to drop one...

Oh I forgot, PvE chars have 15k armors... You know, the "omg it looks so damn cool !" syndrom.

If u are serious about pvp you don't use pve chars. Pvp if you want to be good requires that you can change your character to the needs of the team strategy. The team strat should also be flexible to include different counters to different teams etc. With a PvE char you can't even change your attributes as much as you want, then as far as equipment and skills goes you are stuck with whatever you farmed together on that char. A lot of players will go with their PvE chars anyway for the cooler armors/weapons and affection to the char they played (grinded) so much with.

although pre-built characters are some of the better ones in pvp, you still need to make a pve character so you can unlock skills, and it should be advanced enough that you can get to skill trainers and quests from all parts of the game. for example, my pve character is a conditioner w/n, which isn't pre-built, however I consider it better than either of the warrior builds they already have. You need to have a selection of skill so you can explore different builds.

1. Collectors offer a large amount of equivalent items

2. 20% only exists on crappy mods, same as in the PvP selection screen. However you're right, the 'always' mod with a malus (-1 energy regen, -5 energy or -10 armor) doesn't.

3. 15k armors are actually what PvP characters get. 1.5ks they can't wear - as well as Fissure or Collectors sets. They can however Dye them black.

In conclusion, for raw power theres nothing you couldn't get on a PvP character - theres some specific collectors items for recharges on certain skills that you'd need to at least PvE for, but you can transfer them onto a PvP character with ease. Considering those few items are rarely needed (normally sufficient PvP gear exists), its fair to say PvP and PvE characters are usually equivalent in quality (assuming the PvEer has done both his attrib quests and uses collectors or other max gear).

The best answer is 3 pve characters and 1 slot strictly for Pvp, thats where I messed up hehe I have 4 pve characters but i gotta delete 1 :P. But the best opition is to have 3 characters there just for unlocking and then 1 slot for pvp

I only use PvP characters in PvP. In fact, I've been rushing PvE chars through all missions and most quests to do skill unlocks, and as soon as I've unlocked every skill on the main and used all my skill points, I'm deleting the char.

The reason is versatility. I never play my PvE Mo/W any more because I don't have the cash for sup vigor, different armor sets for different builds (runes), and different sets of weapons (Hale Healing Staff of Fortitude +60?)

As far as I can tell, the only advantage PvE chars have in PvP is in bow choice (where which type of bow has range/speed/rate of fire effects), pets, and looks (for whatever THAT's worth).

In short, the only PvE chars I'm planning on keeping is my Mo/W (for new PvE content), and my R (so I can make pet builds). I'd rather keep two slots free for PvP chars since I like to have a slot for an experimental build as well as a cookie cutter build at all times.

Edit: It seems I'm wrong on the charm animal point...

If you are good player (dont rush 80% of the coops) then PvE characters are by far better,

All weapons in PvP can be aciquered in PvE from collectors and the droks armor isnt to expensive, putting in all runes and bamm for 15k you have a good lvl 20 PvE charater rdy.
The PvE character now is a lot better becaue you have already played with it many hours and you know how to use the skills effectivly, also over the long run you made a choice of what skills you use because you tested it and therfore know what the skills do.

(-- this is a secret-- Most important is that your armour is infused so u take less dmg, but it isnt that obvious-- so psssst--dont tell anyone)

lol... I hope you're joking about that infused bit...

Why not just make a PvP char with the same skills? Obviously, the premade chars aren't the greatest, so make one with the skills you like. Also, not all items are easy to aquire for PvE chars. How many of you have 10/10 sundering, zealous, max vampiric, warding, and fortitude for all weapons? I know I sure don't, but it only takes 1-2k faction to unlock each for PvP. (I guess casters can use wand/focus combos effectively, but I still like my Hale/Insightful PvP Staff of Fortitude, tyvm). Also, getting a sup vigor, sup absorb and whatever other runes you need can cost 200k++ (Especially sup monk runes, these days, lol). Yet for PvP it's a one time investment for all chars for only a few thousand faction.

I never use PvE chars in PvP because max items are prohibitively expensive (my main is still using a minor vigor, for example).

Then again, if you can afford godly gear, then go for it!

Thanks for the correction on the charm animal point. I think it still might be worth keeping a ranger main, though, for bow options.

Edit: Typos... (sp.? typoes?)

Make a pvp character. The great thing about this game is the versatility. If you're using a pve character, you aren't taking advantage of that.

Unlock skills with your PvE, play PvP with your PvP character.

They don't DROP anymore, but they used to, in the desert. So they still exist in limited numbers
